I've obviously always been a sassy fashionista, who occasionally chokes her friends.

argh.

and the frustration sets in. I literally have nothing that I am obligated to do, which is usually how I function. With a list of tasks to complete, things to accomplish and places to be. But alas it is summertime and I have forgotten how to live this life. I have an urge to create, something that is not photography related. These endeavors are usually anxiety making as I do not accomplish what I set forth to do. The brain and hand do not come together to produce what I envisioned in my head. With photography they meet sometimes. This pass semester I made images that were exactly as I saw them in my head. I have come to love the 4x5 camera, but do not own one. So I have made a list of things I would like to do, unrelated to my first love:
1. Create music-sing?! oh my.
2. Write a song, or a poem, short story. something anything.
3. Read books, the first one being Just Kids
4. Make a Zine
I am obviously excited about these things, but I am missing an entry point, a focus. Photography related I will create a website, and compile a cohesive body of work for said website.

I think I gotta do it.

M.I.A.!!! You have come back to us. Although I am suppose to be on a family vacation in Florida at the time of this concert-I just decided that I need to purchase tickets for it. TOMORROW. I am hoping I rearrange my life so I can go OR make 1 million dollars selling them at the last minute.

Why are your photos so creepy Nydia?

I made these photographs for an assignment on the OCCULT. I wanted to tell a story, although my final images don't express that as much as I would have liked them to. I am still getting use to the 4x5 camera and waste/ruin at least two exposures each time.

Love Affair

Yes it is true. I have begun a new love affair, with 4x5 film.

Aaliyah feat. Timbaland - Try Again

It's been a long time, I shouldn't have left you..without a dope beat to step to.
I am dusting myself off and trying again. I was enjoying having a blog until tragedy hit my family and I cut myself off from the world for awhile. Some of you were along for the ride and some got left behind. I guess that is what happens when something life changing happens, something that makes you negotiate life, what is important and what you stand for. Some people ignore these events so it doesn't interrupt their perception of reality, their happiness. Some people get ACTIVE! Others just talk shit when they could be putting their energy to better use. Either way, RIP Shawn Greenwood-you will be missed always and forever. I feel grounded again, with a clearer understanding of who I am and where I am going.
